CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
This is a good choice for an SD DVD player. It will upscale to 1080p and does so pretty well. It's a notch below my Oppo 983H, but considering it costs far less than the Oppo, the performance is well worth the cost.
The build quality is solid, as is typical with Onkyo products. Installation is a snap (basically, just plug in the HDMI cable). The HDMI cable is not included (get one from monoprice at a very reasonable cost). Easy to use menu system, and the disks load quickly.
The only downside is the remote, which is small and has poorly marked buttons. But, it has volume and mute control for Onkyo receivers, so it's a good match should you have that brand.

CONS:Storyline could have been a lot deeper. May be they are saving this for Gears of War 3. Violence may be a little too much for the unprepared.

FINAL VERDICT: A. This is a very well-made game. I have the tendency to buy games and sell them back when I'm done. But I think GoW 2 will probably be a mainstay in my library.

3.Keyboard - This is a great piece of work. Does it have "Home", "Page Up", "Page Down", the legendary "Any" key? No. Doesn't need it. A little research and practice and you will find that these "missing" keys are functions of the keyboard and I don't miss them at all. Secondly the keyboard "key-float" (that rattle you hear when you lightly stroke your finger back and forth over a laptop keyboard) is almost completely non-existent. So when you're typing it doesn't sound like your wadding up crinkly plastic and you don't annoy your neighbors. The key throw is short but very pleasant. Another thing I like about the keyboard is that you don't feel like you will break the keyboard if your touch is a little heavy.

- Have more frequently used functions be on the remote vs. buried somewhere in the menus.

As Sensitive as a Baby
Pleo's sophisticated sensory system consists of nearly 40 devices that enable him to see, sense, touch and detect objects in order to move autonomously and explore his environment without requiring any remote control. This robotic dinosaur includes a color camera with a white-light sensor that allows him to detect bright light from dark, see colors, detect motion, track a moving object, and perceive objects in front of him. This unit also includes binaural microphones on the left and right that give him stereophonic hearing, allowing him to detect sound direction and loudness through both ears. PROS:

1. I did a lot of research before buying an electronic version and this game and this one seems to be the best one. Other than no backlight, which I don't really care about anyway, this one is great. The game is all controlled with the stylus. Just touch the empty slot with the stylus and touch the number you want in the slot. It's that simple. It has three levels of play with an endless supply of computer generated puzzles. It even has 400 pregenerated unique puzzles. And an added bonus is that you can take a puzzle from a newspaper or some other source and enter it into the game to solve electronically.

2. This particular unit has been around awhile (I also have one from London branded "number puzzle"), now rebranded by Franklin for an American release.
First, there is no backlight.
Second, some of the puzzles end where two answers are both correct, which drives some Sudoku purists nuts.
But these are the Only drawbacks.
The unit fits well in the hand, and is easy to use. You can put in your own puzzles, pause, Undo, and toggle sound.
I cannot imagine having a Sudoku handheld game whose screen isn't fully a touchpad, and which doesn't have the ability to put in puzzles from your favorite source! And I can't imagine I'm the only one either!

1. Have owned this item for over 2 years. It has had no wierd functioning problems; when the buttons don't seem to do the pause or input , it is time to change the batteries! mine has worked very well and i have tried them all! i even refuse to use the other 3 kinds that i own. this one is perfect. i can use it at night, i can turn off the sound, and it has the biggest screen that i have seen which is nice when one is older. One review said that they did not like the fact that it was awkward trying to input all number options before one knew what the number was and altho i agree, that is just how it is with the electronic games, one gets used to it! i would much rather use this and not the books with the pencil and the light. this comes with its own light and stylus and it is easy to just grab it at night and play it till your eyes get bleary and then go to sleep.. mine worked fine after a couple years but the screen got a little scratched from abuse and i misplaced it... i can't get to sleep without this toy.! I had to but another one! Definately the best one that i have tried on the market.

2. I have had this product for well over 2 years. I have dropped it, gone through multiple batteries, and I love it. The backlighting makes it the easiest to use of all the electronic sudoku games I have tried, and haveing 2 modes (one that shows you a wrong answer) is great. I play this before bed or in the dark when I am outside on my balcony at night...absolutely love it. My dad gave it to me for Christmas that year...and this year he is getting one for his birthday! lol

1. I just got this remote control a few days back, and so far I am pretty satisfied with it. The shipment was prompt and it arrived even faster than some of the Amazon's own products. I am using it with Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi. I chose it over some alternative products due to its compact size, and that comes in handy when lugging around a whole bunch of camera add-ons.
Since it seems that a lot of people are having problems with the instructions that came with this item, I decided to post a simple set-up procedure that worked for me:
- Turn on the camera.
- Press the "Drive mode" menu button. This is the same button as the left arrow on my camera.
- Toggle between different setting using left and right arrow.
- Make sure that the "Self-timer/Remote control" option is highlighted.
- Press set button.
- You are ready to roll. Point the remote to the camera (from the front of the camera) and press either the upper "S" (for immediate shooting) or "2S" (for 2s delayed shooting) buttons.

2. The remote is handy, small and it does what it is supposed to do. It looks quite good I might say and I am very happy I took this instead of canon original. For this kind of simple products (not high-tech) it is not worth paying for the brand. After setting the camera in the "remote mode" then press S/2S and you'll get the picture.

1. This remote uses a small infrared transmitter to trip the shutter of many of the EOS line of cameras (EOS 10, Elan, Elan II/IIE, EOS IX and possibly others). I bought one 5 or 6 years ago and I haven't had to change the battery yet. Unlike wired remote shutter releases, the RC1 doesn't require the user to set anything up -- just point the remote at the camera front and press the button. The RC1 clips onto a holder that can be threaded through your camera strap so it's always nearby when needed. It measures (inches) 2.25 x 1 x .5 (length x width x height) and weighs not much more than one ounce.
The RC1 as two controls on it: a small slider switch and a larger button to trip the shutter. If you're wearing gloves, the slider switch is near impossible to adjust but the shutter button is easy to hit. The slider offers three settings: Lock (disables the shutter button), regular and 2-second delay. The regular setting works just like the shutter release on your camera although you can't press it halfway to autofocus. The 2-second delay locks up the mirror when you hit the shutter button and then trips the shutter 2 seconds later. This is very useful for longer exposures or shooting with telephoto lenses.

2. received this product a day ago and am happy with it. It's simple and reliably does what it's supposed to do. I bought it primarily for 'bulb' exposures [with my D-Rebel], but, of course, it is also useful when you want to avoid camera shake or to get yourself into the shot.
As others have noted, it is extremely light (15g) and tiny. Those reasons are why I picked this remote over the RC-5 and RS-60E3. Also, there is a camera strap clip included, so it will be quickly available. Canon is even kind enough to include batteries. This is definitely the one to buy.

1. I bought this product after finding multiple spots on my photos. The best way to test if you have dust on your camera's sensor is to set your f-value very high such as f-22 and take picture of the sky or a bright piece of paper. Dust usually only appears in your photos at smaller apertures. You should be able to see most blotches clearly if you do the test right.
Anyway, this thing did the job perfectly. I know how sensitive camera sensors are, and am a little hesitant about using the "wet" method. And besides, this is much cheaper. All you do is go into a dust free room (bathroom worked for me), take off your lens, set your camera to mirror lock-up mode, stick the little red tube into the lens bay, and give it a few blows. Wait about 5 seconds after each blow to allow the dust to fall out. Just make sure you do this is a room free of moisture. Then you just pop the lens back on and take another test shot

2. I had originally bought another brand of blower to clean my digital camera, but after using it once I ended up introducing more dirt and/or rubber bits than I care to remember. Long story short I don't use that for my camera anymore and it took me a long time to get all of that crud out of my camera. But then I decided to give another brand a try since so many people seemed to be able to use blower bulbs without any problems. When I got my new blower my sensor was already fairly clean, but after using it it was a little cleaner. You will still sometimes have those stuck on particles (I use sterile pec pads and eclipse solution to get rid of those with pretty good results, but do this at your own risk since it voids most camera manufacturers warranties.) I also keep my blower in the original packaging to keep it as clean as possible, I guess I am a little gun shy after my first experience.

1. If you haven't used a lens pen, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised -- it works well. The description doesn't make it very clear that this product has TWO different cleaning tools, one at each end. The brush, which retracts, is to take off dust particles. Hidden in the other end is a soft pad with a cleaning agent to remove fingerprints and more serious dirt, hopefully without damaging the anti-reflection coating on your lens. One more thought: another reviewer mentioned cleaning his lens daily with this product. That's not such a great idea. Camera lenses, and especially their anti-reflection coatings, are quite fragile. The more often you clean your lens, the more likely you'll damage the coating, or even scratch the lens due to a small dirt particle on the cleaning pad (likewise, NEVER clean a lens with bathroom tissues, since they contain tiny, hard wood chips).

2. This is a easy to use lens cleaning device. You use the bush end to remove any debris from the lens, and the pad end to remove fingerprints and the like. The bush is retractable and soft enough not to damage lenses.
The pad is treated (coated) in such a way as to remove fingerprints without leaving smudges. I have had excellent results using the Nikon Lens Pen on my Sony DSC F-828 digital camera. However it is important to note that the pad end is much too big to use on the electronic viewfinder (or anything else less than about a half an inch in diameter).

Focus ring (you'll always be using that in macro shots) action is smooth and nicely damped. Just for kicks, I tested the Tokina lens against my $650+ Nikkor 18-200mm VR (@100mm), in a "real world" picture and the Tokina proved why primes are best. As a macro lens or just a short telephoto, you can't beat it! So much so I bought another Tokina :)

1. This was one of the first lenses that I purchased with my Rebel XT. Now after taking several thousand pictures with it I can honestly say it was well worth the cost. I very rarely have any unsharp pictures with this lens unless it is my own fault by trying to use too slow of a shutter speed without a tripod.
I also have the 180mm f/3.5L Macro Lens, which costs about 3 times more than this lens, and although it is very clear and the extra reach is nice at times especially since it can be used with both the 1.4X and 2X TC's, it is very difficult to use inside without a tripod. The 60mm can be handheld if needed with very good results even if you have to bump your ISO up a little to do so.

2. I bought this lens instead for two purpose: Macro and Portrait! I was thinking of buying the 100mm macro plus 85mm f1.8 but this lens saves me buying two lenses! I have been very happy with it as what it is. I don't do flying insects very much so it is not a problem but that said I was able to get 1:1 shot of a fly. You will not regret it unless your primary aim is to shoot flying insets where longer 100mm or 150mm macro lenses may be needed in this case.

Alarm2 will only overwrite the volume setting of alarm1 if it is active.
* There is a short buzz sound whenever you turn the speakers on. This also happens if the alarm starts the device. So that sounds is most likely the sound that wakes me up before the play list kicks in.
* There is a shuffle on/off button on the device and the the remote. However pressing the button the device will not tell you, you just turned it on or off.

The 20x zoom is fantastic, all the frills like shadow adjustments and face detections works just fine.Another feature called "pre capture" and uses a lower resolution but when you half press the shutter, it take ten photos at once and you get pick which one you like the best after you finished it off by pushing the shutter button all the way down. Weird but if you got the card space and the time to review all ten shots, then its pretty neat.The feel and the construction of the camera is excellent.If Olympus can just work on their user interface and the auto intelligent mode, this camera can rock.

1. I can work with office documents and synch up with my outlook calender faster than I could with my old HTC/ATT Win 6.1 smart phone. Nokia PC Suit is leagues ahead of MS Active Synch, and puts Motorola's software to the shame it deserves.

2. The E75 is the first QWERTY slider into the E series, yet maintains a pleasant thinness. It is not as thin as the E71, but Nokia is fitting quite a bit of hardware into this thin slider body. Nevertheless, the E75 is solidly built and maintains a great feel while being held open or closed.
The QWERTY keyboard featured on the E75 is huge. Coming from a narrower brick QWERTY, the jump to such a wider keyboard is impressive and helps make typing out messages on a phone less of a chore. Those who may have bigger fingers may appreciate the larger keys as featured on the E75. Unlike the E71 the E75 contains a dedicated Ctrl key, the E71's key only being a secondary function. 1. The Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 is one of the better webcams I have had the opportunity to use over the years. Its stylish design fits easily on top of my LCD screen, while its functionality and features continue to impress. However, Vista functionality can be an adventure at a few times.
First, let's talk about the good -- picture quality. Let me put it to you think way: This webcam works better than my high priced Sony Camcorder at picking up video in low-light settings. I was simply amazed the first time I used it in a room with compact flourescents in the middle of the night and had such remarkable clarity and picture quality. Logitech credits this ability with something they call RightLight technology. Whatever you want to call it, it's one of the features that definitely makes this webcam stand above the rest.
Next, the optics themselves are impressive. The 9000 utilized Carl Zeiss optics and you can tell the difference between this webcam and others. If you want to find out what makes Carl Zeiss optics so good, I encourage you to do a quick internet search or visit Wikipedia to look it up. It's hard to describe in text how this optics setup helps -- this is definitely something you have to see to believe.

2. As a still camera, the QuickCam Pro 9000 can take better pictures than my old and long gone digital camera, though at maximum resolution you'd better content yourself with emailing them one at a time. However, it is not a complete substitute for it because even with a very long extension cord that desktop will get heavy in a hurry.
As a video camera, the QuickCam Pro 9000 is truly amazing! At maximum resolution people only familiar with older generation web cams will be openmouthed with astonishment, and viewers of the resulting videos will be able to make educated guesses about their dental health. It has a "Face Tracking" feature that can be set to follow one face or multiple faces and will do so quite well no matter how the subject(s) move, though the resulting video is not recommended for anyone susceptible to motion sickness.

1. It is easy to use, high quality and very competitively priced. This is a great desktop mic to use for making podcasts or recording music. I am not a musician so I am not able to speak to that aspect of the microphones ability. I did use it to make several voice over videos and it performed perfectly. Never a hick-up or any spurious noises heard at all.

1. Over the course of the last 6 years I've had a number of USB drives. Iomega, Corsair, Apacer, PNY and SanDisk. I've upgraded each time I felt the storage increase justified the cost. I work in information technology so they are tools more than toys, anyway on to the review. This 16GB drive is fantastic. I have it split into two partitions, one of which is encrypted. I've used it in all sorts of systems and also have a .bat file that allows me to sync my data, my point? Whether you are transferring data, saving data, or syncing data it works quite well. I also use some apps like Firefox portable which allows you to run the browser from your USB device and keep personal info off the local computer. Once again no issues.
I do agree that the protective rubber coating around the drive can make it somewhat difficult to plug in multiple USB devices, but Corsair does provide you a USB cable extension which solves the problem. And also this is one of the few USB devices that the cap stays on very tight.

2. I purchased this drive from Amazon recently and tested it under both Mac OS X Tiger and Windows ME. In both cases, I saw excellent read speed but slow, slow write speed (1 MB/s to 1.4 MB/s, an order of magnitude lower than advertized). I was very disappointed at the poor performance to say the least.
Before returning the drive, I decided to test it under Windows XP. Wow, what a difference. The same drive, under Windows XP, is a speed demon. I am now satisfied that the drive behaves much more closely to it's advertized specs. For read speed, I am seeing something in the area of 30 MB/s, which is excellent. For write speed I am seeing roughly 7 MB/s. This is a little slower than advertized, but nonetheless, an excellent speed.

1. Okay, I own a lot of microphones. I am very picky when it comes to sound and I would gladly waste $40 in gas to return a microphone that just didn't have the sound I expect. I was delighted to hear the quality of this USB mic! It has a great clarity to it, without being "tinny" or "crispy", and without sacrificing on the lows either. No "boomy" or "hollow" sound, just a nice clean and full-range quality that I expect from my $500-range microphones (but thankfully, without having to fool with an audio interface or goofy proprietary driver software!) What a great find... plug it in and it is ready to record!!
If you are looking for an intelligent, clean, affordable microphone for voice-over projects, podcasts, quick-and-easy live recording (with your laptop, of course), or open-mic music composition before dragging all the gear out to record a full-blown multitrack, this is the best money can buy in this category. 2. When I started podcasting I began looking for a quality microphone that would provide me with quality sound while being inexpensive. This microphone has been GREAT for my podcasting efforts. 1. Okay so what do I use it for? I take it to hearings and depositions (I am a lawyer, remember?). These are public events under Florida law and there is no reasonable expectation of privacy.This is important since the pen doesn't just record the strokes of the pen, it records everything being said. And it records it very well. Here is the cool part, touch a word in your notes and you will hear whatever was happening at that time. My favorite demonstration to date is to touch a word from a contested trial where I got to ask a witness if he had ever told people that he spoke to the dead and that they spoke back to him. The guy nearly came across the table at me, a point also recorded. Now an aside to lawyers, law students and pro se litigants-do not ever ask someone this question unless you have an email from the witness attesting to his ability to commune with the formerly alive.
The recording capacity of this pen is astonishing. The manufacturer suggests that the 2GB pen will hold 200 hours of audio. I have no reason to doubt it, since constant use has barely tapped its capacity.
There are lots of other features in the pen. It is possible to draw a keyboard and play notes (musical notes) on it. My daughter, a music ed major, particularly enjoys this. There is even a cute animation demo built in whose 3-D sound as heard through the earbuds is astonishing and mildly amusing. So who could use this pen other than trial lawyers? Students seem to be a logical group. Perhaps physicians and nurses could use it. Did the patient really say he had a condition or did he say something else? Livescribe needs to produce industry specific paper for just such uses, or to allow outside vendors to create it.

2. I use it for work meetings constantly and it works great. Here are some pros and cons:
- Works well in meeting rooms and offices, even when a speakerphone is being used. Records all the discussion in the room. Includes an external speaker - microphone that plugs in for better audio quality.
- Can upload the pages directly to your PC and then word search the written text. It even prints as pdf file...
- Pen has a nice build and not too heavy but the pen cartridge moves and rattles a bit.
- Ink cartridges run out quickly although they provided replacements, including different colors.
- Read the manual, there are some quirks on the way it knows and handles the notebooks.
- I haven't tried it yet but you can print your own dot paper on a compatible printer.
- You can sometimes hear the pen noise while writing (using the installed microphone) but again you can plug in the external speaker/microphone supplied to avoid the noise.
- Got it as a gift from Costco and comes with 4 college ruled generously supplied dot paper notebooks.
- Had to update the software from the internet but couldn't do it from work since it was blocked by company network. Tried to get this corrected using Internet Explorer options but worked find from home Cable Network.
- Doesn't come with OCR software but Vision Objects sells myScribe it separately on the web for 29.00 and integrates directly with the Livescribe software...you would think they would bundle this since it works so well. The OCR software dumps directly to MS Word.
- Livescribe pen software works OK but is a little limited. For example, you have to delete one session at a time from the pen. The interface is not intuitive so did I mention...read the manual.
- The pen is little buggy...lost its brain on date and time...had to reset a few times. Can update the firmware right from Livescribe so thats a nice feature.
- I really like the product and will be looking for the new and improved model once they work out a few bugs.

1. The DS-40 without its external microphone is about the same size as the WS-320M. It is slightly thicker and heavier. The exterior of the DS-40 is mostly metal. On the bottom, the battery door is plastic and hinged like the Olympus DS-4000. The mini-USB port is covered by a tethered plastic cover. On the lower right side, there is a power/hold slide switch. If you do not power the DS-40 off, it will enter a power save mode and the display will blank. Pressing a key brings it out of power save mode. The power save mode time is user adjustable. The control buttons are well spaced and shaped to make the DS-40 an acceptable dictation recorder unlike the WS-320M. The WS-320M has small flat closely spaced keys. The LCD screen is backlit in white and is very legible. The speaker is located in the back and produces enough volume to be heard in a moving car. On the top of the DS-40 is a stereo microphone jack which supports an optional remote control / microphone jack and is where the external stereo microphone is plugged in.

2. This recorder has excellent sound quality, impressive voice guided menu, easy to read display, great performance and key response, and is a great size and can conspicuously be put in your shirt pocket. It records to WMA files and can be plugged into your computer via USB as a USB drive. No software is even required to grab the files from it. It has a file system just like most digital cameras. The external speaker sounds quite good considering its size. The sound quality with headphones is fantastic. I didn't try it with music as there are much better things to listen to music with (i.e. iPod). The Music playback isn't a useful feature to me.
I first bought the Sony ICD-SX46VTP which had terrible sound quality and required software that complained of missing files during the install. I took it back in favor of the Olympus DS40 and I am really glad that I did. The Sony ICD-SX46VTP was terrible all around.

1. Zoom has responded with the H2, a scaled down version of the H4 with all of the features of the R-09 and all of the controls right where you need them. The H2 even has additional features over the R-09, but they don't get in the way. For example, there's a choice of a 90 degree recording pattern, a 120 degree recording pattern, and even a surround sound option. Samsontech has some nice video demonstrations on its website.
Recently, I got together with friends and recorded the same live acoustic music on both the Edirol R-09 and the Zoom H2. I used Adobe Audition only to normalize both tracks (that is, equalize their loudness). The first time we played them back, I thought I detected a VERY slight preference for the Edirol, with the overall opinion of the group split between the two units. The second time we played them back, my preference was for the H2, with overall opinion continuing to be split. We all agreed that the differences were so small as to be negligible if there were any at all. We were sitting in a circle with the recorders located next to each other on a mantle above and outside the group.

2. I borrowed a Zoom H4 from a friend and found it extremely frustrating to use. The owners manual was just gibberish to me. I could not make heads or tails of the instructions. It was a totally frustrating experience and I was ready to give up on making a CD, and ready to go back to making old fashioned cassette tape recordings.
I took a chance on the Zoom H2 and am not sorry. All the head aches of the H4 have been addressed with the H2. This machine is much easier to use. I'm using it to record live string music and it does a wonderful job. Sounds great! I'm not an egg head geek or a computer expert nor am I a professional sound recording engineer, and I am very comfortable using this machine. Zoom must have listened to everything people were complaining about the H4 when they designed the H2.

1. This projector is a very good choice for home entertainment as well as work in an office or in the lab [my case]. It is very bright even when operated in economy mode. The self adjusting feature is very good, like for instance the auto keystone. The menu is easy to navigate, and efficient. The lamp is good, and cheap. The projector is quiet, and doesn't get too hot while operating. The cover lid for the lamp is a good extra. The machine is light and very easy to carry with the provided bag.
The remote could be bigger with bigger buttons. The VGA cable is rather short but can be replaced with a 10ft super-VGA shielded video cable for about $20. In essence, a must buy! Clear, bright and sharp images/videos at a very reasonable price. I had a DELL projector before and I regret I didn't trust EPSON to begin with!

2. I used my Epson 77c at a trade show recently to display video at my booth and even on the economy setting it was more than bright enough to allow me to have a big screen display that matched my other computer displays in my booth. It is much brighter than I expected, even on the low range. I gave a slide show and after the show we realized that we had forgotten to turn out the lights. The Epson 77c was so bright we just didn't notice!
I went to Fry's a week or so ago and did the same test. There were a couple of projectors that projected brighter images that had at least as good color and contrast as my 77c. When I checked to see what they were I discovered that they were the more expensive models in the same Epson 3LCD line of projectors as the 77c. If money is not an issue you might want to consider the PowerLite 1715c, which is brighter and smaller, but is about twice as expensive and the light bulbs don't last as long.

1. I am a neophyte when it comes to using overhead projectors, but took a chance on this one. I was able to use the USB cord (included) to do a power presentation for a meeting, only 24 hours after the projector arrived. It was truly "plug & play." A few days later, I needed to present a video clip to an audience. When I checked it out, I discovered that in videos, the USB cord was inadequate. So, I tried the "external monitor" cord (also included) and the situation was quickly resolved!
There were no worries about buying the right cords to connect anything, and there was no problem in getting it set up. It works well in a "dimly lit room." It has a nice feature that turns off the light (but not the projector) when the front cover is closed, and it is "instantly cool" after turned off. Besides the cords, it comes with its own carrying case and a cd with a manual to install on your computer.

2. I really like the features and user interface that Epson models use. Pretty easy to use and learn right out of the box, I didn't even look at the manual. This unit does have a USB connection for your computer, but I used the vga cable that came with the unit, and s-video for playing games/dvd's etc. Nice, bright picture, good contrast. Fairly quiet as projectors go. Warms up fast and instant power down. Comes with a remote and various cables (usb, vga, vga to component adaptor).
In my opinion, this is the best VALUE XGA projector for the price. Sure you can find some entry level projectors in the $400 range, but they are native SVGA, not XGA. That makes a big difference when hooking up your computer or video games.

1. Do you need a remote for controlling slide shows and other presentations on your Mac, but you don't have a newer Mac that came with an Apple remote? The most important feature being that it will control your presentations. It controls Powerpoint presentations, Keynote presentation, iPhoto slideshows, Quicktime slideshows, and it even controls switching tracks in iTunes (I had to try, and it worked!). In addition to controlling the visual part of the presentation, it also has volume control buttons to remotely control the audio part of your presentation.
For those who want to point out details on a presentation from a distance, it has a laser pointer. You can even black out the screen with the push of one button on the remote. Those features alone would make this a great presentation remote. However, the remote is also a mouse (in a matter of speaking)! The top of the remote has two buttons that coincide with the left and right buttons on a mouse. There is also a mouse button, similar to those on some laptops, that will control your pointer on the screen. On the side of the unit is another button that acts like a scroll wheel. Using the remote to control the mouse was actually easier than I expected.

2. I'm fairly happy with this nice little product. The price was great, too. I've used for about two weeks now, and on a variety of computers. Every time, without fail, it starts right up without needing drivers or administrative access. It only takes about 5 seconds, and doesn't even prompt me. The response on the mouse control stick is good, but very sensitive. If you are using it to press buttons or manipulate pull-down menus, you better have good thumb-eye coordination.
The remote control works fairly far away... at least 20 feet so far, and probably farther. I haven't had any issues with that thus far. The on/off switch on the side is a nice touch, as is the bright laser pointer. And I really like how the USB dongle slides into the controller when you travel. In all, this is a great product and does exactly what it's supposed to d in a very good way. And the price could not be beat.

1. The USB transmitter that plugs into the computer is nearly half the size in the new version, which is nice, given the bulky size of the previous version.
The device now runs on AAA batteries instead of a smaller, disc-type battery. This is nice, since you had to go to a store to pick up replacement batteries for the old version.

2. I've compared about 5 or 6 presenters in actual use for a corporate application. All work well and get the job done. This one worked flawlessly -- plugs in, recognized by pc, and buttons are working immediately. The functionality is limited to 4 buttons though and a laser, which is fine for basic needs. If that's all you need (forward, back, stop, laser), then this is a good choice. I prefer the Logitech for the added convenience of having a volume control and timer, but if those features aren't important, this is an equally good unit.

1. I have been using the Logitech Cordless 2.4 GHz Presenter for about three weeks. During that time I have used it in 18 one hour lectures. The presenter does everything it was designed to do effortlessly. I decided on the Logitech Presenter for a two reasons. First, it installs with no software. Just plug the USB radio transmitter/receiver into the back of your computer and it is ready to go. During my initial installation Windows XP said there was a problem, but everything operated just fine. Second, this presenter has a limited number of functions. It was my view that when giving a lecture the last thing you need is to have to hunt among a dozen or so buttons to do something. Also, more buttons increases the likelihood of hitting the wrong one. On the top the Logitech Presenter has 5 buttons: 1) forward, 2) back, 3) laser pointer which is between the forward and back, 4) F5/ESC which starts PowerPoint at the first slide or returns to the work view and 5) black the screen. All of the buttons are conveniently placed, work as promised and are easy to find without looking at them. On the left side is the on/off switch and volume control and on the right side is the button to set the countdown timer. The timer starts vibrating at set intervals 5 minutes before it reaches 0. It appears to use batteries sparingly. After about 18 hours of use the battery meter has yet to move.
There are two possible negatives to the Logitech Cordless 2.4 GHz Presenter. First, it has no mouse (I actually consider this a positive). So if you need to use a mouse in your presentations this is not the presenter to get. Second, it only appears to work with PowerPoint. It may work with other programs, but I have found no mention of it.

2. I purchased this about two weeks ago, and have already used it several times. I'm just wrapping up my graduate education, and wish I knew about this sooner. If you present in teams, and usually have someone controlling the slides, you know how its difficult to sync your presentation with the other person. The Logitech Presenter puts the control into your hands. This also allows you to step away from the computer, and focus on the actual presentation than changing the slides.

This unit does the following:
- start presentation/exit presentation
- black out the screen (good for when you want to have people focus their attention on you instead of the slides)
- forward/back, to navigate through slides
- volume control
- laser pointer
- time limit notification (warnings at 5 mins and 2 mins)
- Also comes with a compact fabric case.

1. The units themselves are good solid construction with heavyweight usb plug and a microphone boom arm that doesn't look like it will break easily (like some do). Sound quality is good, with an acceptable amount of bass.
The usb thing works exactly as advertised on both XP and Vista. The sounds normally come out of my speakers. There is no software to load and when I plug in the headset, sounds suddenly come out of the headphones, it really is that easy.

2. I purchased this headset several months ago to use for watching movies, and internet gaming and have been very happy with it.
