Customer feedback:

1. I spent about a week researching for just the right multi-function printer for my needs. I own a small business with about 30 employees so I needed more than an inkjet but didn't require a 'corporate' $1000+ version either. I needed fax, scan, copy, and print capability with laser printing and built-in wireless capability. Suprisingly, there are not that many printers on the market that can give you all of these in one package. Originally I was going to purchase the Brother's MFC-8870 for around $500 which all the reviews on the internet recommend, but I found this while browsing around and realized that it had just come out a few weeks ago. Although there were no reviews out yet for this new printer, it was considerably less expensive than the 8870 and the only thing I seemed to be losing was auto-duplexing so I made the purchase. It took about 15 minutes total for me to set up an ad-hoc wireless printer setup and everything works great. The scans are nice, the printing is very crisp and clear even in very small fonts. The only thing I haven't tried yet is the fax which I won't be using much. I really can't say anything bad about this product.

2. I was looking for a laser multifunction device with network capability that I could use to print from my laptop anywhere in the house. A lot of reviews seemed to point to the Brother MFCs as the best overall brand for laser monochrome devices. The only problem was that there were a LOT of different models to choose from - just going to the Brother website to do some comparison shopping made my head spin. The MFC-7840W is a recently introduced model which has seemed to get good reviews across the board. A major plus is that it has both wireless and wired network capabilities. I took the plunge and purchased this model. Since I already had a wireless router to plug it into, I didn't need to use the wireless capabilities, but it seemed to be a nice option for future flexibility. The Ethernet connection was easy to set up and worked the first time I tried printing from my laptop.
I've been very pleased with the quality and feature set of the MFC-7840W. Not only does it print high quality output, but it has clearly-labeled buttons for scan, fax, and copy, which makes it a breeze to use any of these functions. Plus, the device is relatively light and doesn't have a very large footprint, so it fits easily on top of a small file cabinet. High marks overall.

Customer feedback:

This is my second Toshiba laptop. Number one is around 4 years old and still works well. This review is more about the A355 chassis, than this exact spec laptop, and should apply to just about every one of the laptops in this series whether they run AMD or Intel chips. The first view is that the materials are just plain flat out gorgeous. From the shiny exterior, to the semi rounded base, the two large chrome mouse buttons, the nicely integrated Harmon Kardon speakers, the illuminated touch areas, the big beautiful monitor, and those shiny keys. Yes this is one very pretty computer.
Under that pretty hood are some interesting specs. It used to be incredibly rare to see an eSATA port on any computer, let alone a laptop. Well this one has exactly that - an eSATA port that doubles as a USB port. Nice option to hook up external hard drives. It also includes an iLink, Firewire, or IEEE-1394 port - an incredible rarity (even Apple dropped this port). The audio ports and volume control are on the front, nicely placed. There's absolutely no ports on the rear. There's also an express card slot (not a PCMCIA slot, but EXPRESS card slot) and a multi flash memory card reader (they've dropped CF from the list). It does not include Bluetooth - a very strange omission since every single bluetooth adapter uses the Toshiba stack to run. Use either of these adapters, they work perfectly: IOGear GBU421 Bluetooth 2.0 USB Micro Adapter or Cirago BTA3210 Class 2 Micro Bluetooth Adapter (Black Tip) - both are outstanding miniscule adapters.

Black & Decker SZ360 3.6-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Power Scissors

These scissors offer way more cutting power than just about anyone can muster with muscle alone, and best of all, it’s effortless. You can’t help but love a product that makes life so much easier, especially for folks who suffer from arthritis. You can cut nearly anything with these, from delicate pattern paper to sheet vinyl flooring and window screening, with just the press of a button. Our favorite job for these, though, is to easily slice into that impossible-to-open, hard plastic packaging that seems to be on most everything these days. It’s no match for these scissors.
When power scissors first came out, there wasn’t too much concern about ergonomics, but we know so much more these days about how important that is. Black & Decker’s made this power tool a treat for the body to use, with a nice cushy grip, super light weight and no force needed. One charge will keep you cutting for 70 minutes, and then you just plug it in and charge it again. There’s no end to what you can use these power scissors for – gift wrapping, sewing, scrapbooking, decorating, jobs around the house, crafts, clipping coupons.

Black & Decker SZ360 3.6-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Power Scissors

Customer feedback:

1. I purchased these scissors after seeing them advertised on the (....) tube. After seeing the price I figured what could I lose I mean really, I've spent more on lottery tickets and ended up with nothing to show for it. I charged the scissors for 12 hours as per the instructions and then went on a cutting frenzy! Trust me folks, there was not a safe magazine, cardboard box or plastic carton for 2 miles that I didn't chop to bits with these things. The power of the scissors is really quite amazing considering their size and weight and they fit your hand like a glove. The only thing I could think of to improve this product (More like a wish) is to have a holster for them that you can wear on your belt like a cowboy and his trusty six-shooter. Yep, there would have been a very different outcome at the O.K. Corral if I had been there with my powered scissors.
Ok so enough blabbering, the scissors are a great product at a good price, just be careful not to become a power scissor bandito or you and I are going to have it out on the white paper of life!

2. The Black and Decker Cordless Power Scissors, along with Black and Decker's Cordless Screwdriver
and the Black & Decker Handisaw were just what we were in the market for. While I had often thought about buying them in the past, this seemed to be a perfect time to finally make the purchase. Just in time to use for the cutting and wrapping of our family Christmas presents. Because my wife has a plate in her wrist using regular scissors is sometimes, literally, a pain for her. Not so with the Black and Decker Cordless Scissors. She has said these just glide right through. She doesn't have to work the scissors, she said she just holds them and goes along for the ride! Not having any wrist or hand fatigue to deal with is a blessing. Works as smooth as a knife through butter!

Customer feedback:

1. This came by truck in a wood framed heavy duty cardboard crate. Wood skid on the bottom and wood support frame on top. It arrived without a scratch on the crate so that impressed me...I mean it(the crate)looked showroom fresh so that was great if not incredible. Unpacking and setup was impressive,..this machine is well built and very much commercial rated. The tines have shear bolts instread of shear pins which I like. The engine came with oil and started right up after adding the gas and hitting the electric start button once. The boom swings smoothly via a control lever which is nice, and it also has a headlamp. The handle bars attach with 4 (not two) wing bolts which I liked,..no skimping. Just a great machine and hogged right thru the drifts. I am very pleased with the price and quality. Especially the quality.

2. This is my First snow thrower, and I had done some research before buying anything. I was about to buy one of the big-box-stores affiliated brand snow thrower, but the Poulan-Pro was only slightly more expansive yet proved to have much more to offer such as the headlight (great addition), the easier to use chute control handle, and even the color is better ;)
we have a VERY long driveway which was the reason for getting this (no way I could shovel THAT much snow) and this thing will clear the 100ft driveway + back path to house + ~100ft street walkway in about 30-45 minutes at 4"-6" of snow - heck, I even clear the neighbors area where the snowplows block the entrance to the street. this thing works like a charm!

Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower

Clear driveways, walkways, and patios quickly and easily with the Toro 1800 Power Curve Electric Snow Thrower. Compact yet powerful enough to toss snow a distance of 30 feet, this machine is easy to operate and maintain, so you can enjoy the next snowfall without having to worry about whose turn it is to shovel. Toro's patented Power Curve System employs a unique, curved rotor and a funnel-shaped housing, in addition to wide rubber paddles that propel the machine forward and clean all the way down to the pavement. This technology lets you move more snow in less time, and it virtually eliminates clogging, so you can be confident that your snow thrower will be ready the next time a winter storm comes your way.
With a snow removal capacity of 700 pounds per minute, the Power Curve lets you clear four inches of snow off a 50-by-20-foot driveway in just 10 minutes. The machine's clearing width of 18 inches means that you can clear most walkways with just one or two quick passes. And with a snow cut depth of 10 inches per pass, you won't need to repeat work you've already done, unless you're in the middle of a serious blizzard.

Customer feedback:

1. You only have to look at this 25 pound wonder to know its not a heavy duty snow blower. So don't think it is going to do the job of a huge gas powered rig. Having said that - I have a 50ft two car wide driveway. It flings 5 inches of snow off that driveway in 10 to 15 min. I love it. I cant wait for more snow. It should have no problem with a foot of snow. its like a high powered snow vacume
You just plug it in and go. No gas, no spark plugs, no oil, no tune up. I am often done before the neighbor has cussed enough to get his gas monster (with head lights) running. I have full confidence in this rig.

2. PROS:
- Lightweight and compact, so can be stored in shed easily.
- Electric, so virtually no maintenance.
- The electric motor is surprisingly powerful.
- Simple to set up and use.
- Works very well with dry, powdery snow.
- Quality construction, and zero problems in past five years.

CONS:
- Lack of torque and lightweight plastic construction means that it cannot handle compacted, icy, or wet snow. (This is when you feel like junking this tool.)
- There should be a mechanism that 'locks' the electric cord connection to the thrower, so that the cord doesn't keep disconnecting.
- The handle should retract and telescope for leverage and also to facilitate storage.
- The tiny plastic wheels must have come from a toy factory. They provide no traction and are merely useless appendages.

Customer feedback:

1. I had an old SKIL biscuit joiner for years and it did an OK job, but it was tired and a new one was in my immediate future. I researched and asked friends and of course they all loved the one they had. Most satisfied were the Porter Cable folks. So I borrowed a friends PC and used it on my last project. Decent machine, but not a life long product for a busy woodworker and the adjustments didn't seem as easy as the Lamello. I decided to get the Lamello and waited for 3 or 4 months checking the price on Amazon daily and when it dipped to $649.00 I jumped on it. WOW! What a machine. I hated that it took me so long to pull the trigger, but it beats everything I have seen or used hands down. The adjustments are SIMPLE and ACCURATE!! This is clearly a case of you get what you pay for.

2. The only thing I can really say is...buy the best & forget the rest...you won't regret it. Or you can do like I did. First buy a cheaper biscuit joiner, find out you get what you pay for, then spend even more money to buy what you should've bought in the first place.
Just a superb biscuit joiner. Very nice soft start. Zero slop & I do mean zero. Pinpoint setting adjustments. Dust bag is OK, but it's a dust bag. Hook it up to a shop vac for complete dust control. If you want to use the Lamello Top 20 to join face frames or use it for other small applications, get the H-9 cutter head & applicably sized biscuits.

DEWALT DW682K Heavy-Duty 6.5 Amp Plate Joiner

Technical Details

* 6.5 Amp motor delivers 10,00 RPM for fast, reliable cutting
* Adjustable fence, which tilts from 0 to 90 degrees and allows flush cuts for versatility
* Non-marring shoe, retractable, anti-slip pins, and preset depth stops provide convenience
* Measures 15.8 by 6.4 by 6.8 inches; weighs 12 pounds
* Includes joiner, dust bag, vacuum adapter, torx key, wrench, kit box, and 3-year warranty

Customer feedback:

1. First, the rack & pinion design of the fence makes this a very stable and accurate tool. It is powerful and the grip and switch location is convenient. When used without the vacuum attachment, this machince shoots the chips right at the operator. However I always use a vacuum attachment because I don't like having all those chips all over the shop anyway, so this is not a serious draw back. The Porter Cable which is priced competitively offer a smaller blade option for face frame construction but the handle is awkward and the fence is sloppy. This tool works great. It is accurate, dependable and easy to use. You could buy a more expensive tool and get a greater degree of refinement but if all you want is a dependable tool that does its job well. I recommend this.

2. Since I wear hearing protection with ALL power tools I cannot comment on how loud it is. (My ears don't ring all the time, either.) The dust bag, as is usual with all dust bags, doesn't work and I haven't used it since the first try. The shop vac does the trick.
It has worked flawlessly on everything from positioning slats in a headboard (OK, I could have used mortise-and-tenon joints, but there were a LOT of slats) to attaching edging to plywood, to table-top glue-ups. The only biscuit failure I've had was when I tried to use it to attach the aprons to the legs on a children's play table. Some places NEED better joinery!

Customer feedback:

1. The tool itself is well-made, easy to use, arrived perfectly adjusted, and has all the features I could want and then some for plate joining. Amazon now offers this tool at a much lower price than I paid at the local dealer, so it's hard to imagine buying anything less. I'm very happy with mine and expect to make good use of it.

2. I purchased this biscuit joiner only a short time ago and being a die hard wood worker I have definitely put it to the test. The 557 powerful motor breezes through the hardest woods in a snap. I have used it in Oak, Ash, and Pine (alot of Oak) and no problem. I have read several other reviews in other brands in my search for the right joiner for me. After careful consideration there was but one choice Porter Cable 557. I have read several complaints about the Dewalt and there accuracy (I own some Dewalt tools and Love them). Fine Woodworkings review laid heavy on my decision as porter cables accuracy was within .005 (1 1/2 human hairs!!) the dewalt was .0315 or 1/32. I have used this tool plenty, Glued up cores, jointed rails & stiles for face frames, 45 degree miters, & 90 joints. The cores come out flush and I mean flush just general sanding. I would highly recommend this tool over any other on the market. Im sure you would consider this money well spent

Customer feedback:

1. This is the saw that home improvement centers should carry. I do 10-15 tile jobs per year for friends and friends of friends plus myself and family. I do not need a $900 10" saw. However this saw rips and diagonals the same size tile. It has the same adjustments and capabilities as the more expensive saw. It may not have last as long as the saw doing 50-75 jobs per year, but neither will I. This saw will give the average DYI the opportunity to make their job professional. A great saw at a fair price that will last a lifetime, versatile, easy to use, and accurate.

2. This saw is an upgrade for me from the MK 770, and I could not be happier with my purchase, or the manner and short time in which it was delivered to my business.
All the spec's, details, photos and prices I needed were there before me on screen, to do all the comparisons I needed between saws and prices. I have used various MK products through my life and always relied on them for their dependability and accuracy.
This is the first online purchase I have ever made with Amazon.com, and will by no means be the last!

Customer feedback:

1. I bought this same saw about a year ago at Lowes, I paid something like $150 for it. It's a great saw, really smooth and comfortable to use. Works great for cutting trim boards, but I've also used it as a chop saw to cut 2x6's, it doesn't bog down one bit when cutting larger stock. It's a little heavy, but to me that just means it's built better. It's also quiet compared to other miter saws I've used. This is definitely a great deal! I'm almost tempted to buy a second as a backup!

2. This saw is very powerful relative to other models in this price range. I had looked at the Dewalt saws, but didn't really think the quality of construction was the same since Black & Decker bought them out a few years back. I've used this to cut 4x4" treated posts and it slices through them like a hot knife through butter, with no motor lag at all. The sawdust catch-bag is a nice feature, but doesn't catch it all. I wasn't expecting it to, and having ANY of it get caught is a plus, and simply less clean up for me once the project is finished.
After receiving this saw, I did some research and found out that all Hitachi power tools have a 5 year limited warrantee. I've blown through 3 drills - 1 Skil, 2 Black & Deckers (guess I didn't learn) - on my trip to the Hitachi brand, and will never buy anything but Hitachi tools from here on out. I would recommend this tool to anyone that is looking for a professional quality tool at a decent price.

Grip-Rite GRTMP16 16d Mini Air Nailer

Do yourself a favor and stop swinging that hammer in tight spaces. This small but powerful tool will reach almost anywhere and drive up to a 3-1/-inch 16d sinker framing nail. When the engineers at Grip-Rite asked professionals how to improve their palm-sized air nailers, they all said they wanted a smaller tool. So, Grip-Rite created a tool that fits the most common applications at 1/3 the size and weight. After one use, you will wonder how you ever lived without this innovative tool.

Technical Details

* Drives up to 3-1/2-inch 16d sinker framing nail
* Magnet holds nail for easy starts
* Lightweight at only 1.1-pounds
* Compact, fits-inch your pocket or tool pouch
* One-year factory warranty

Grip-Rite GRTMP16 16d Mini Air Nailer

Customer feedback:

1. Very handy, won't replace your nail gun but will drive nails where you can't use a hammer, screw gun, or nail gun. Only short coming was toe nailing, but it more than makes up for that with what it does well. I used it to put up 3/8" soffit under eaves. Looped Mini Air nailer air hose over ladder with nail in it. Positioned soffit, held soffit with one hand and used nailer with other. You can reach out while holding on to ladder and drive nails one handed, so much lighter than nail gun. Worked very well driving nails next to fascia. If I wear it out I will replace it.

2. After seeing this tool on the Cool Tools show on tv, I bought three of them, one each for my dad and stepdad and one for my father in law for fathers day. They were amazed at the power and stability of it and all three said they would never use a hammer again unless absolutely necessary! I'm a woman and I tried it myself and it was so easy. It can get into tight spaces where hammers can't. Driving the nails is effortless and it gets the nails flush and there are no hammer marks on your wood. This definitely is a cool tool! I would recommend this to anyone.

* Includes plunge and fixed base router; 1/2-inch and 1/4-inch collet chucks, template guide adaptor, centering gauge, sub-base plate, 3 wrenches
* 5-year warranty

Customer feedback:

1. The motor is a work of art. It is so smooth and quiet compared to many routers. As sound is a product of vibration, I tend to think that a router that is quiet and powerful at the same time is going to be more precise and smooth than a loud and powerful one. It's true that you have to use 2 wrenches to loosen the collet, but I feel more confident in its durability than a locking collet (as noted by another reviewer).
I really think this the best 2 1/4 HP router combo on the market. Yes, even better than the old vanguards like Porter Cable and Bosch. It doesn't hurt that it is also a bit cheaper than most. Now if Hitachi would make a D-handle and include the edge guide in the package, then it truly would be the perfect router. But even without those, I still highly recommend this router, whether you buy it with the combo or just the fixed base.

2. The first thing that I noticed about this router is how solid it is. The motor is surprisingly hefty for its size. I love the ease at which I can switch from the fixed base to the plunge base. The soft start is smooth and yet powerful. One of the things that made me decide on this Hitachi was the fact that I was constantly seeing it being used in the background of woodworking magazine article photos as well as on the covers and in advertisements for different products related to routers. The base locks are a breeze to use, they hold tight and are easily adjustable. I would have been satistied had I paid even more for it regardless of the free palm sander which is also a fine piece of equipment. It is true that it takes two wrenches to loosen the Collette but that is a give and take situation.

Customer feedback:

1. I've used this screwdriver for everything from hanging wooden blinds, installing child locks on the kitchen cabinet doors, and removing and replacing the switchplates when I paint a room to name a few. Its small and easy to use but is still powerful. This new lithium ion battery stays charged for months but the IXO can be stored on the charger without damaging the battery. I like the fact that it is always charged when I need to use it. I originally received the Skil iXO as a gift and liked it so much that I've purchased several more to give as gifts.

2. I love this little cordless drill. I bought it because it was small and lightweight and I've been very impressed with it's long-lasting charge and more than adequate torque for around the house. The grip is the perfect size for my hands. My husband has very large hands and loves his big drills, but doesn't mind using my little drill for small projects.

Customer feedback:

1. If you need a mechanic's type tool set for work; this tool is not for you. If you want a tool capable of busting loose lug nuts to change tires, this tool is not useful for that. You get the point, this tool is not an "All in one", "Do Everything" tool - nor is it advertised as being one.
What this tool does do well is handle small jobs around the house. I have many corded and cordless tools as well as a couple of air tools. I use those for my heavy work. However, for around the house, this kind of tool can't be beat for convenience. It's lightweight, can get into small spaces and if the power isn't quite enough for what you are loosening or tightening, then you can use it like a manual wrench and it will do whatever your muscles will allow you to do.

2. I just got this a few weeks ago for Christmas and already used it a few times. Was thrilled with the offset capabilities of the tool. It may be called a wrench (and it's main job is) but with the adapter and bits that come with the set I have used it for offset and tight driving problems also (phillips, torx, hex, etc.) A pleasure to have in my tool collection.

Skil 2352-01 3.6-Volt Lithium-Ion Multi-Cutter

Customer feedback:

1. The product does a great job cutting many things, but can easily choke on two layers of cardboard if it's tilted sideways by a bit. When it doesn't cut, often the blade is a fraction of an inch away from what needs cutting, and it's a feed problem. Keeping it straight helps a lot on thick things, and sometimes, angling the front downwards slightly can get it to bite and go smoothly.
If you are not feeding it something at maximum thickness, and are keeping it straight, it does a fine job. As for the safety switch, the tool is designed so that if you grab it with one hand, chances are the switch will be a bit forward of where your thumb is likely to end up. You will be a lot less likely to turn it on by mistake while grabbing it, but the trade off is that the button feels a bit forward of where you might expect it. But it's hardly a chore and stretching your thumb forward a fraction of an inch is all it takes.

2. So far this has been a great product that I think anyone who regularly shops here needs to consider. If you use it for nothing else then to cut up the cardboard boxes that your Amazon orders arrive in it will earn it's place amongst your other tools.
Like some here my family does a fair amount of shopping here and the cardboard boxes can pile up. We try to reuse them for other things, but sometimes they just get out of control and pile up. The Multi-cutter has helped handle this most recent episode, making the dispatching of several dozen boxes in various sizes and states of use and abuse a task that took only a few hours of steady work instead of several hours of frustratingly boring work.
In the, roughly, three hours of steady work the battery held out with no cutting problems until near the very end. I do have to say that running it that constantly is probably not recommended as the unit did start to get a little warm there at the end. As to the auto-sharpener feature this works very well. While cutting through a box from a vacuum cleaner I hit one of those heavy duty industrial staples and nicked the blade in a couple of spots. Thirty minutes worth of work later and the nicks were all but gone. By the end of my work you couldn't see where I had nicked the cutter at all.

MK Diamond 158252 MK-145 1/2-Horsepower 4-1/2-Inch Wet Tile Saw

Customer feedback:

1. This is a great little tile saw! It's easily worth twice the money. I bought it for a project that involved cutting 13 x 13 tiles for a fireplace. As long as you take your time, keep the water reservoir full and feed the tile slowly you should get good cuts. I've already made at least 200 cuts on large tile and the blade is still cutting like it did out of the box.
I really like the design; it's just like a little table saw. I have a lot of experience cutting wood on all kinds of machines but have never cut tile in my life. Inside of 5 minutes I was making all kinds of cuts with great results. I really like the ability to cut 45 and 22-degree angles by just tilting up the table face near the blade.
The only thing that I would change on this saw would be to make it out of metal instead of plastic. Then, of course you would probably have to pay 2 to 3 times as much for it. This is not necessarily a criticism, just an observation.

2. I own a small home improvement/remodeling company, on occasion I will need to cut a few tiles but have no use for a large saw. (I call a tile sub in for large projects). I have made probably 600 cuts so far with this saw and it has worked like a champ and payed for itself with the first use. It's a bit on the loud side and will spray water at you if you over-fill the reservoir. It has plenty of power though, and the fence works just fine if it's lined up properly. Cleanup is made easy by spraying it outside with a garden hose. It is light, portable and will suit the average person that needs to cut a few tiles just fine. The bottom line...if you intend to do some small tiling projects around the home such as a bathroom, kitchen or entryway then this will easily do the job, if your going to be laying 1000 sq ft of tile with lots of cuts then durability might be an issue!!

Customer feedback:

1. Maybe you think it's no more than a kitchen appliance with delusions of grandeur. Well, electricity is not just for kitchen appliances and vacuum cleaners anymore ... I was tired of repeated trips to the repair shop with my gas mower, so I kicked it to the curb. Literally. I don't need a Cadillac mower for my Mini-Cooper lawn. In addition to the ease of plug in, turn on, and go ...
What I like:
- Light weight. Light enough to manuever with one hand while the other hand tends the cord on turns. ALSO, this holds easily going across an incline, rather than up, which is hard on the lower back, or down, which is hazardous.
- Height adjustment is spring-loaded, and counter-balanced just right. Raising and lowering cutting height is quick and easy. It lowers in a snap from preferred lawn cutting height to its lowest setting for grass or leaves on the drive or street, which quickly turn to near dust for ease of blow-off.
- It mulches great across the lawn; much, much better than the last 2 gas mowers I've owned. That's probably more due to design than power source -- but the mulching is the point. The clippings from one week's growth just disappear. And the St. Augustine grass common here in Florida doesn't mulch as easily as the bluegrass of Kentucky, as memory serves.
- A metal cutting deck, rather than the plastic offerings from a couple of competitors.

2. I could not be more satisfied with this mower. It will mulch, bag or spread the grass clippings without raising a sweat.

Black & Decker LM175 18-Inch 6.5 Amp Electric Mower

What types of walk-behind mowers are there?
There are four basic choices: push reel, electric, cordless, and gas. All have strengths and weaknesses.
* Push reel mowers are powered by you. They’re quiet, they don’t need cords or recharging, and they don’t pollute. But on large lawns, you might not want the workout you get when using a push reel mower. They also tend to be less effective on grass taller than two inches.
* Electric mowers need to be plugged into an outlet to power them, which means you’re constrained by the location of power outlets, the length of your power cord, and any obstacles that may snag the cord. If you have a small yard but don’t want the forced exercise of using a push reel mower, an electric mower may be for you.
* Cordless mowers are powered by a rechargeable battery. You don’t have to deal with the hassles of keeping a cord plugged in, but battery life becomes a constraint. Depending on the battery capacity, the size of your yard, and the height of your grass, you may not be able to complete your mowing job on one charge.
* Gas mowers offer the most power, which is best if you’ll be mowing tall, dense grass or if your yard is larger than 2,000 square feet. But you will have to keep gas and oil on hand as well as keep the engine serviced.

If you're in the market for a solid, economical electric mower, the Black & Decker 18-inch electric mower is worth a look. Powered by a high-efficiency, 6.5 amp, Black & Decker motor, this mower offers quiet, hassle-free operation, without the mess and expense of gas-and-oil models. No need for tune-ups and pull starts, either. This mower weighs just 36 pounds, making it easy to push and maneuver in the lawn. It features an 18-inch cutting blade; side discharge; a rust-proof, polymer deck; and one-touch height adjustment (from 1 to 3-1/2 inches). Tool-free assembly means you'll be up and mowing quickly, while a lifetime deck warranty and two-year warranty on the mower itself provide added peace of mind.

* 18-inch cutting path; 100-foot range
* 1-lever height adjustment that adjusts all four wheels at once from 1 to 3-1/2 inches
* No gas, oil, or tune-ups to worry about; weighs only 35 pounds
* Limited lifetime warranty on deck; 2-year limited warranty on everything else

Customer feedback:

1. This very basic electric is easy to use and plenty powerful enough for my small lawn. Cord is no problem since my lawn is so small, but if you are doing a lot of back-and-forth you may have to watch out for the cord. No problem to start, which is the major reason why I dumped my gas-powered mower. Appears solid enough for the price. Good Mower!!

2. Your neighbors might make fun of you because you and your wife mow the grass together now - one of you pushes and the other one wrangles the extension cord. They'll ridicule you endlessly for being able to have an actual conversation with her over the low drone of this plastic (gasp) mower. Wave at them and know you are simply a being of superior intelligence who has no time for their guffaws.
Are you a total weakling, intimidated by the overwhelming task of lifting a lawnmower up a flight of steps or onto the bed of a truck (I know I am)? Fear not, for this electrical wonder weighs only slightly more than the extensive metal orthodontic gear you wore about your face and mouth until you were 16. Be smart. Be beautiful. Own an electric lawn mower.

Black & Decker 9-Inch 1.8-AMP Electric Grass Trimmer

If you're in the market for a basic, entry-level electric trimmer to handle light trimming work around your house, the Black and Decker 9-inch grass trimmer might be worth considering. While certainly not as powerful or feature-laden as more costly models, this trimmer can handle much of the light-duty work many homeowners need. The trimmer weighs just 3.2 pounds and requires little assembly with just 2 steps. It operates off a reliable, 1.8-amp HP motor, which spins the line at 11,000 rpm. This grass trimmer features a basic bump feed line system, a generous nine-inch cutting path, and a secondary assist handle for added comfort and control. It comes with 20 feet of .065-diameter line, and spool replacement is fairly simple. One thing I found especially handy with this particular trimmer was its unique cord lock system, which holds the extension cord firmly in place while the trimmer is in use.

Black & Decker 9-Inch 1.8-AMP Electric Grass Trimmer

Technical Details

* Ideal for smaller yards or light-duty trimming jobs
* 1.8 Amp motor operates at 11,000 RPM.
* Bump feed spool allows feeding of the line as needed
* Dimensions: 17.8 x 7.8 x 7.2 inches (WxHxD); weighs 3.2 pounds; 2-year warranty
* Comes with 20 feet of .065-diameter line

Customer feedback:

1. This small, light weight trimming/edging tool cuts in 9-inch swathes at a time. Because of its size, it is more controllable than the larger (12" - 14") trimmers. The larger, more powerful trimmers are not suitable for many lawns. I took back one because of its imprecise cutting. The powerful motor resulted in the shredding of a wood edging that separates the lawn from an adjacent mulched area.
One problem with all trimmers is that there is nothing to catch the flying bits of lawn. The only thing that might help in the future is to lay a sheet over the mulched area adjacent to the lawn to catch the cuttings, and move the sheet as I go along. Perhaps this should come with a sheet? Again, the smaller, less powerful machine's precision reduces excess trimmings. This is also a less noisy machine and is easier to store than the more powerful trimmers.

2. I am trying my best to get rid of needless gas motors because two ATVs, a lawn tractor and a mower is more than enough to maintain. I also wanted something that was very light so my wife could use it.
I have 3/4 of an acre of lawn and don't mind using cords to get where I need to. This little trimmer does everything it should. I easily trim around my raised garden beds and this unit is very good for precise trimming around flower beds, etc. The line feed is very easy to use.

Worx GT WG150 10-Inch 18-Volt Cordless Electric String Trimmer/Edger

Technical Details

* 100% automatic line feed for best cutting performance
* Telescopic shaft adjusts to user's height and posture; rotating handle
* Includes 18-volt battery pack and charger, 16-foot spool trimmer line
* 2-year manufacturer's warranty

Customer feedback:

1. I got this to replace a 2001 American Gardner 18 volt cordless trimmer that finally would no longer hold a charge. The Worx has much improved ergonimics, the handles, telescoping shaft, adjustable head angle and light weight are nice. However it lacks the power of the American Gardner, it is unable to cut through as heavy a growth and the string that comes with it is crap. The auto feeder jammed several times the first time I used it and the line would not cut well compared to the 5 sided Shakespeare .65 line I had been using when rewinding my spools on the American Gardner trimmer. So I unwound the Worx spool and replaced their line with the Shakespeare line. The result was much improved cutting. I recommend this to everyone.

2. Strengths:
- electric cordelss (a requirement for me)= no mess/fuss & low noise
- lightweight
- adjustable trim head is very handy - I've never seen this on a line trimmer before. I like it a lot.
- durable - seems like a solid design.
- easily swapped batteries. Inexpensive battery replacement.

Weaknesses:
- not as powerful as their ads led me to believe. I've used a Craftsman 10 in. Electric Weedwacker for the past two years which uses a powerful 24 volt battery system. This trimmer uses an 18 volt. I'm not sure if that's what makes the Craftsman more powerful but something does. The Worx does fine with grass, but I don't think it would work well with anything heavier...
- so so as an edger. Not really powerful enough to dig the edge - but it will trim it and the wheels actually make it work fairly well for this.
- advertise how great the auto feed system is. Mine often required me to take off the bottom and manually feed it. The spool did seem to be poorly rolled so maybe I had a non-typical problem. Seems like it worked ok when the line didn' get caught up inside.

Customer feedback:

1. I did a lot of research before choosing the Sony DVP-FX820 and what sold me were all the great reviews. I was leaning toward a player with a larger screen, but I trusted what I read about the picture quality of this unit... and I have to say, I received it today and I am amazed. It's much better than I expected! This little dvd player has a better picture than my HD TV! And although the speaker sound is a little hollow (no real base) the volume more than makes up for it... I've heard other players- or should I say I've tried to hear other players- the volume is wonderful on this one, the sound totally acceptable via the speakers and the sound is incredible when I use my 10 yr old Sony Studio Monitor headset.

2. Have owned the original Sony DVP-FX810 and that was a good player too. I sold that and bought this one. The resolution is about twice as high as the original. Just bought this but I can tell you the screen really shines compared to every other DVD player (portable) that I've seen. I'm sure more players will have the high resolution soon. The volume is also much louder than the original.
The battery is supposed to last 6 hours at lowest brightness. With my old one which is basically this I did manage 5 hours at medium brightness so two movies should work fine before the low battery symbol shows. I wanted the red one but the sonystyle at Metreon had everyone except the red but the blue is nice too. Highly recommended.

Canon Powershot A1000IS 10MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Grey)

Technical Details

* 10-megapixel image sensor captures enough detail for photo-quality 13 x 19-inch prints
* 4x optical image-stabilized zoom lens
* DIGIC III Image Processor with Genuine Canon Face Detection
* 2.5-inch LCD and optical viewfinder; Motion Detection technology
* Capture images to SD/SDHC memory cards

Customer feedback:

1. This camera takes excellent pictures. I particularly like the Optical Image Stabalization, Motion sensor, and face recognition. I only make 4 X 6 prints. So far no problems. The pet/children mode does a good job of stopping action.
I've used the optical viewfinder a couple of times. It doesn't show 100% of the picture, but it sure makes a difference in extreme sunlight.
Sometimes it is necessary indoors to increase the ISO in order to increase the flash distance (easily done with a button). I still get great pictures. I know some reviewers blow the pictures up and indicate the noise in the picture. It's just not evident in normal picture prints. I'm sure there would be obvious noise if I was using high ISOs. Battery life is great also. I use Lithium AAs. They last so long there is no need to use recharageable batteries.

2. I bought this camera about 15 days back. I have used it a couple of times indoors, outdoors and indoors with low-light conditions.
Used correctly, this camera does a great job of taking good quality images. I had to play with the camera for about 15-20 mins to get familiar with it so I could take the best pictures possible. My sister owned a Powershot A530 before this one and i had the same experience with that too.
This camera fits nicely in your jeans pocket and is quite light.
You will need a tripod to take good low-light shots. I have a cat and a rabbit and a 3 yr old nephew - The kids and pets setting really works well to take pictures of them. Generally the few manual settings it does have are good enough for a serious amateur photographer.
One gripe I do have is that with regular AA alkaline batteries the flash recycle time can go up to 8 seconds and the camera is blank and unusable during this time. This of course is a problem with most canon Powershots. The solution I have found is to use batteries made specifically for taking pictures (Duracell makes some) or just use rechargeable NiMH batteries. This works great. Almost down to 1 sec between shots with that.

Customer feedback:

1. I work in a photo processing lab, where I also deal with and sell cameras for most of the day, so before purchasing my own I did a lot of hands-on research playing with and reading about all the cameras that were within the price I wanted to spend. I'm still learning as far as all the fancy features, but if you're like me and just need a good camera for everyday type stuff, this one is perfect. With its 7.1 mega pixels, it takes really sharp pictures and what I really like is how fast the shutter is. There's virtually no delay between the time you focus the camera and go to snap the actual picture. That was my biggest problem with my old camera-- I'd go to focus in and then by the time I actually snapped the photo, the delay was so annoyingly long that the moment was lost. The LCD screen is a great size, not too large and not too small. At 2.5", you get a really good idea of what you're shooting, even without a viewfinder. The only complaint I have is that it's not as great outdoors in bright weather. The screen gets really washed out and makes it kind of difficult to get a good shot. This is fixable though, as they sell pop-up shade clips (about $10) you can attach to the camera so as to correct that. I haven't tried them personally, but heard they work really well. I also really like the size of the camera itself. A lot of people are attracted to the super slim tiny cameras you can fit in a pocket, but that didn't appeal to me. I wanted something I'd be comfortable holding, fit well in my hands, and didn't feel like I was going to drop it. Its like the perfect size for me, because it's still really compact but not so small that it gives me anxiety over dropping it/breaking something. Alternately, its not so big that I can't easily carry it around with me.

2. I was looking for a camera for my mom's birthday that was extremely simple to operate, but still took good pictures. She's very non-technical and doesn't even own a computer. This camera turned out to completely fit the bill. There are very few features, which makes the learning curve pretty short. Macro capabilities are pretty nice and unexpected, which my mom loves so she'll be able to take pictures of her flowers this spring. For someone who needs a basic camera that "just works", this is it. If you need anything more than the basics, you'll need to look elsewhere.

* Realistically weighted gas and brake pedals
* Works with your Windows PC with the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver (Sold Separately)

Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel

Customer feedback:

1. This wheel is a blast! I was already addicted to Forza 2 and was moving steadily up in my career with the regular game controller. With this racing wheel (and pedals), I'm moving up even faster than before and the experience is dizzying - literally. I have my setup about 3 feet from a 50" plasma and the feedback of the wheel is so realistic that I was getting odd dizzy effects when going in and out of tight corners because my body was expecting to feel real world forces from the seat against my back and sides - and they of course were missing. Make no mistake, this isn't a bad thing - its a testament to the realistic feedback of the wheel. You feel everything - understeer, oversteer, grass, jerks when flying from grass back onto the pavement.
Prior to this wheel, I always detested driving the big American cars like the Camero or Corvette because they were so difficult to control with the normal controller - they would constantly slide out and wag back and forth because there was no feel. Last night I nailed several races with both these cars because I was finally able to control the car through power slides and oversteers.

2. Pros:
Top notch feel and finish, no corners cut on cheap plastic or details.
Works right out of the box. No drivers to fumble with.
Feedback (while connected to power source) is excellent.
Clamping system is easy to understand and use.
Doesn't tie up a spot on your Xbox USB ports.

Cons:
Minor- you need to find the right table/surface to mount this on. It is heavy!
Minor- clamping system is excellent, however, after a long race it may move and need readjusting.

Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom

Whether the action is fast or slow, close up or far away, you’ll always get the shot you want with the PowerShot SX10 IS. This camera puts you on the cutting edge of advanced technology, with an incredibly powerful 20x optical zoom, 10-megapixel resolution, and new DIGIC 4 Image Processor for high-performance face and motion detection.
The PowerShot SX10 IS is equipped with a 20x optical zoom lens with a focal length of 5.0-100mm (35mm film equivalent: 28-560mm) that allows you to shoot any scene from wide-angle to telephoto. The camera uses a VCM (Voice Coil Motor) for high-speed, quiet, energy-efficient lens movement with precise control. Focal length is conveniently indicated on the lens barrel.
The lens is optimized to fully exploit its zoom length and wide shooting angle in concert with the camera’s high 10.0-megapixel resolution. UD glass effectively suppresses chromatic aberration, while enhanced negative refractive power ensures that distortion at the wide-angle is also corrected. Further aberration is controlled with the inclusion of a double-sided aspherical glass-molded lens and ultra-high refraction index lens.

Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom

Technical Details

* 2.5-inch Vari-angle LCD; DIGIC 4 Image Processor improves Face Detection
* MovieSnap mode lets you capture high-resolution still images while shooting a movie
* Capture images to SD/SDHC memory cards

Customer Feedback:

1. Pros:
- In initial testing, the face detection technology seems to work well. I can take a self portrait now and the lighting comes out very good. I think the technology has gone from buzzword marketing to true usefulness.
- One side benefit of the face detection technology is that it enables the camera to intelligently take red-eye out of pictures without using the red-eye reduction lamp.
- The flip-out and rotating viewfinder has always and continues to set this camera apart from its peers from other companies. It allows for less intrusive candid photos and has many other advantages.
- Thankfully, the SD card door is separate from the battery door as it was with the S3IS. Thank you Canon! There are times that I just want to take a few pictures, and now I don't have to open the battery door to take the SD card out and put in my PC's card reader.
- Low battery warning. I think this is the first version to have that and it's very welcome.
- 28mm -- I will never get another camera without wide angle built in. I have the Canon Elph 880IS too, which is a very powerful "pocketable" camera that complements this one well.
- Sharp 20x zoom. Pictures turn out very good even at high zooms. In an indoor-lit apartment, I can read fairly small print from a photo taken all the way across a room -- it truly is amazing.
- The picture quality is better at higher ISO's than previous models. Each model improves on this and this one definitely continues that. I haven't tried out the "I-Contrast" setting (on vs. off) but I can say that in some outdoor pictures that I have taken detail is good in shadow areas.
- Finally, a standard lens-cap. It doesn't have a tether, but you can buy a cap attachment from a camera store that sticks on the front of the cap. The one that I got has an elastic band that goes around the base of the lens. I also got a better lens cap which can now be done since it's standard.
- Controls ... I like the new placement of the controls such as dedicated on-off button and display button. I don't think I will like the scroll wheel but time will tell. For those not familiar with this camera, there is a dedicated video button so that you can take video quickly without having to mess with the controls.
- Weight and shape. I liked the shape of the S5IS a little better. This one seems too "boxy" and the grip seems too abrupt. It's bigger and heavier but not in a way that matters. It's expected with the new lens.

2. Pros:
Excellent resolution
Very good noise control
Image edge and corner sharpness
Less than average color fringing
True wide angle and phenomenal telephoto
iContrast for highlight/shadow
Vari-angle LCD
Focus frame size adjustment
Brightness, contrast, sharpness and color settings
Great movie mode with stereo sound
Hot shoe
Lens hood

Cons:
Slow f5.7 maximum aperture beyond 100mm
Tendency to overexpose (though this can be an advantage--see below)
Low light autofocus issues
Minor lens distortions and color fringing at either end of zoom
Tedious control dial
LCD hard to see in bright outdoor light
Zoom sounds audible in movies

Customer feedback:

1. I bought one of these to replace a PS3 because I hated that it looked like a wart in my setup, had a loud fan, and could not bitstream. Finally there is a small blu-ray standalone that is fast, has a great picture and can bitstream advanced audio. It looks great in the rack and the netflix/pandora features are a nice bonus. I won't be missing the PS3 at all. BTW, it is known that a 1GB usb drive is needed for BD live enabled titles. If you do not have one installed, and are not internet connected BD-live titles will not play unless BD-Live is disabled under the settings. I don't know why it is enabled by default, but the couple of guys that had unplayable discs could have fixed that problem my disabling BD-Live or inserting a 1GB flash drive. A little research will yield a lot.
Since the player is brand new (almost pre-release) there may be hiccups, but expect firmware to address them as they are found. As is, the player is playing all my blu-rays spectacularly. This is a great player. Don't hesitate if the features meet your needs.

2. This is a good value for a blu-ray player with the new online features available such as Netflix, Pandora, and BD-Live. It is small and easy to install and setup. I use the HDMI output to my Samsung HDTV and the Optical Digital Audio output to my AV receiver. The Anynet+ feature is convenient which helps the Samsung components work together reducing button pushing. I hooked up an ethernet cable and easily got it online and setup with my pre-existing accounts with Netflix and Pandora. I've read BD-Live requires a USB 1GB flash drive. I have download cable modem speeds in 6MB/s range so the picture quality is very good from Netflix, I'd say equivalent to upconverted DVD quality. Audio quality from Pandora is also excellent and the commercial-free music service is supreme. Blu-ray DVDs look fantastic and upconverted standard DVDs look great too. This does not have the higher-end HQV chip to my knowledge. The face pushbutton interface is cool and has a high-tech feel to it. Load time is very fast - about 8 to 10s. The menus look good and are easy to navigate. No complaints here. I'm very pleased getting all these features for entry level money.

Customer feedback:

1. I've been using this for 2 weeks now, and it's my first blu-ray player (no PS3). The good stuff: Excellent look, not too loud, amazing picture and sound. Working ethernet and USB port. (I haven't had to download any firmware or code updates, but I'm sure it'll work fine.)
Operations: No fan noise, no noise while playing, but during menu & loading, you hear some track-seeking which is audible at 10'... nothing offensive, though. I just noticed last night, after my 5th blu-ray a little flicker in in the bottom center of the screen during the credits of Juno... not sure if it's a bad disc or a player having a problem. It was repeatable, and the disc seemed clean. Lastly, the load time, eject time, etc seems just fine. Not instant or as fast a nice DVD player, but not noticably slow. I've heard alot about slow disc-loading, and if it is a problem on other players - it's not a problem on this one. Lastly, sometimes when you click on a menu instead of pausing, the screen with show a "progress-bar" for 2-4 seconds while the next manu loads, which isn't completely kosher, but doesn't bother me.

2. I had been waiting to jump into the HD media fray until a winner was declared and of course, that happened earlier this year. A lot of people recommended to me to get a PS3 for my blu-ray player but, for a variety of reasons, I decided I wanted a standalone player. After a lot of research, I settled on the Samsung BD-P1500. I had heard a lot of negatives about how Samsung had not been supporting their previous generation units but I was willing to get them a 30 day trial. I'm glad I did.
I purchased this over memorial day weekend so I've had it over a month. In that time, I've played maybe a dozen blu-ray discs and 3 or 4 DVD's. The only problem I've experienced that is attributable to the player is several extremely brief audio dropouts while watching Ratatouille. However, I updated the player's firmware last weekend and watched several scenes that would previously cause the dropouts and observed none.
I love the fact that it has an ethernet port for firmware updates and future BD 2.0 features. The player loads discs quickly in comparison to stories I've heard about other players. Picture and sound quality are outstanding (I'm able to use the HD audio features and it's frankly amazing).

Customer feedback:

1. The drive comes with a kit (disc and USB cable) that allow you to easily transfer all your data from your old 20GB drive to the 120GB one. The transfer was easy and hassle-free. The entire process took less than 90 minutes. When I turned on the 360 afterwards with the new drive attached, everything booted up exactly as it had with the old 20GB drive. There was no further configuration or registration needed. All data had been preserved perfectly - downloaded demos, trailers, and other content, saved game data, music, etc. The new drive is even a little bit faster than the old one - although it's possible that my old one had gotten fragmented and that was slowing it down, so maybe it's really the same speed. Anyway, this is nice. Now every time I want to download something I don't have to scrounge for some free hard drive space by deleting stuff I would really rather keep.

2. Price is a bit steep since I just got my Xbox 360 5 months ago but a must have item for me. The 13 GB of usable space on the original drive is too small to hold demos, clips and ripped CDs. I started ripping my CD collection to the Xbox 360 and quickly ran out of space. The Media jukebox is wonderful for playing my CDs over my sound system. Installation was completed in less than 5 minutes and the transfer of the 20 GB took 1 hour, 19 minutes. I am currently downloading 7 GB of game demos I can play, as well as TV and movie clips. Tons of FREE content if you have the hard disk space.
I believe I can even transfer my home photos to it to use as a slideshow. Super simple installation. Insert CD, pull out USB connections, plug transfer cable into new drive and other end in the rear USB. Push A. When finished, remove CD, turn off unit, remove USB cable, and change out new drive for old (2 seconds or so to pop out old and insert new). Turn on and enjoy.

Xbox 360 Black Play & Charge Kit

Customer feedback:

1. This is a must have with your 360 and a controller. And in black to match your Elite controllers. You can plug it in via USB to your Xbox 360 and charge the included battery pack while you play your game. You can also remove your battery pack, and plug the cable directly to your 360 for wired gaming (so your controller won't shut off while you are in the middle of that hired driver Forza race.
This charges via any USB port on your 360, your computer, your cable box, or your dog (if he has included USB hub). I recommend buying one of these, then buying the Quick Charge Kit. Then you'll have 2 battery packs, the quick charge dock, and a USB charge cable.

2. I recently got the Xbox 360 elite, and knowing that I was going to be spending hours on it, I knew that some battery power was a necessity. I saw this, that comes with a battery and a cable - and at the price, I really couldn't say no. I was already going to get some rechargeable batteries for my controllers, and the fact that this is just a few more dollars with a battery, its definitely a good idea.
It does take a while to charge, though, and that's obviously because you are using the battery power while it is trying to replace it, but thats not a huge issue unless your gaming spot is usually not readily accessible with a cord attached to your controller.

Customer feedback:

1. The build feels very good. The camera feels wonderfully light yet well built. I'm 6ft tall with average size hands, and the camera feels good in my hand. The battery grip, to me, defeats the purpose of having a small, light DSLR, so I opted for a Hakuba/Opteka grip (it's a plate that screws into the tripod socket that enables you to use the excellent Canon E1 hand strap with it) and I couldn't be happier. I'm not a fan of neck straps, so this works well for me (see the uploaded photo for the configuration).
Most of the menu buttons on the back feel different from the ones on the original Digital Rebel and the 30D; the XSi buttons feel more tactile and have a definite "click" to them when you press them. The exception are the Exposure Lock (*) and AF selector buttons, which have retained the deeper, softer feel of the older cameras. Just different, not better or worse, for me.

2. I have had the XSi for about 3 months now and I am thouroughly impressed with it. This is my first DSLR and I was a little wary about going with a brand-new and untested camera, but I have always like Canon (I used an ELAN II in High School and I bought a SD600 about 2 years ago to take snapshots of my son). Overall, I have not been disappointed with the quality of the photos that the XSi produces. The IS lens works great and I have taken some pretty amazing photos (for me at least). I do have just a couple of issues, both good and bad, that I think those who are looking at buying this may want to know.
LiveView is not for beginners. It is not a replacement for your Point-and-Shoot. You can't use it in the AUTO mode (Green Square). This isn't that big of a deal for me, I prefer full manual myself, but the whole point of this feature, I thought, was to make it more user friendly for the Point-and-Shoot photographer. My wife can't use Live View in it's current form (I specifically bought a DSLR with a live view function so she could still use the camera).
